The project materials are nearing completion thus requiring an expert to design and lay out pages of the publications. Nagisove Graphics was the successful bidder and have begun work on this. As part of the design and layout, we are now in search of suitable graphics (images, graphs, etc.) to include in the main publications, Teachers Resource Book. Letters have been drafted to be sent to copyright holders of these selected graphics to obtain permission to use them.

The project has achieved another major milestone when the MoU was signed with the National Education Department. It establishes both parties' committment to collaboration and innovation in the delivery of civic education materials and training for schools and associated institutions in PNG through the implementation of the SBCE project.

The project has also ventured into developing Android (phone) applications based on civic concepts. PNG ICT Cluster, a nationally owned ICT company, has been consulted to design and develop these android applications. Two selected applications were demonstrated with TIPNG staff. Such an interesting and informative presentation being presented and we are looking forward for more.

The project successfully administered its 3rd TAG workshop from the 15th to the 20th of March this year. TAG members, who are professional teachers/lecturers, worked tirelessly during the week to have the materials reviewed and evaluated and we are pleased to mention that much of the materials have been reviewed; thanks to the TAG members and the facilitators as well. The proposed 4th TAG workshop will be held sometime in September this year.

The 'Book of Corruption Fighting Heroes' is one of the several other materials we are producing, that aims at inspiring students with stories of people who have been thought to be corruption fighters. We are now looking for more stories of Papua New Guineans who were and are seen as corruption fighters who might have fought corruption in some ways and not heard off... This is a good opportunity for you to submit your stories. For more information, please contact us.

Interested writers were contracted to write up chapters for the 'Background Reading/Information' book and illustrators/graphic artists to do concept drawings for the 'Big books, Student Reader and Posters using the new poster concepts.' We are hoping to recieve drafts from these groups of people for further revisions and editions.

To replace the Project Manager (Daniel George) who recently resigned, and the Technical Cordinator (Diana Songo) who also resigned due to medical reasons, the project has recruited two new officers; Ms Mary Udu as the Project Manager and Mrs Pauline Tokamara as the Technical Cordinator.

A baseline survey was conducted in five different provinces of Papua New Guinea targeting grade 10 students; the provinces are National Capital District (NCD), Central Province, East New Britain Province, Simbu Province and Madang Province.

The second design workshop successfully took place mid this year. The Teacher Advisory Group (TAG) have reviewed and evaluated all the materials under what used to be the GGACE which now comes under SBCE, including several other new inclusions of posters, student readers, interactive exercises/tasks and new materials such as the phone android applications. The next proposed workshop will be held early next year (2015).
